McDowell Burys the Hatchet
The McDowell Rice team recently stepped away from the office for a unique and energizing team-building event at Bury the Hatchet, in Overland Park, where colleagues traded keyboards and conference rooms for axes and targets.
The outing provided an opportunity for employees to connect outside of their usual roles, encouraging teamwork, friendly competition, and plenty of laughter. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, team members learned proper axe-throwing techniques before cheering each other on and celebrating well-placed throws.
Beyond the novelty of the experience, the event reinforced the firm’s commitment to fostering strong relationships, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture. It was a refreshing reminder that trust, communication, and a little fun go a long way—both on the throwing lanes and back at the office.
McDowell Rice looks forward to more opportunities like this to strengthen connections and support a cohesive, engaged team.
