About Our Practice:

Our Family Law/Divorce practice is comprehensive, handling a broad spectrum of domestic matters including:

• Complex marital dissolutions and legal separations
• Child custody agreements and parenting plans
• Prenuptial, postnuptial, and non-traditional partnership agreements
• Post-divorce modifications, including spousal maintenance, child custody, and support
• Paternity determinations and related litigation

We frequently represent clients with substantial marital estates, requiring strategic handling of business valuations, real estate, and high-value asset division, including long-held family wealth.

We are looking for an attorney with a solid track record in family law who can:
• Navigate high-net-worth divorces with financial complexity

The well-respected law firm of McDowell, Rice, Smith & Buchanan, P.C., located on the Country Club Plaza, is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented equity partner to join our well-established Tax, Estate Planning & Probate practice group. We are looking for a legal partner with strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to helping individuals, businesses, and fiduciaries navigate complex legal and tax matters in the areas of probate/estate, real estate, and tax planning. Even if you are heavily disciplined in just one of these areas, we want to talk to you!

Our Tax and Estate Planning group handles a wide range of matters, including:
• Income, estate, gift, and charitable tax planning for individuals and business entities
• Business planning and entity structuring for LLCs, partnerships, and corporations
• Estate planning, trust administration, and probate
• IRS and state tax audits, appeals, and litigation before the U.S. Tax Court
• Tax aspects of business reorganizations, dispositions, and dissolutions
• Formation and administration of charitable organizations and foundations

We also advise and represent clients with significant assets, closely held businesses, and intergenerational wealth, as well as artists and creatives with unique planning needs.

We are looking for an attorney who can:
• Advise clients on complex tax and estate planning strategies
• Draft and administer wills, trusts, and related documents
• Represent clients before federal and state taxing authorities
• Provide counsel on business transactions with tax implications
• Handle probate and fiduciary litigation matters with professionalism and discretion
