Intellectual Property: Intellectual Property Litigation

Intellectual property litigation involves resolving disputes related to intellectual property matters. Intellectual property is a form of property right which is the result of creations of the human mind. These are often the result of inventions, discoveries, creating a work of art or a composition of music, writing a software program, creating a new process, developing a secret process, or growing a company’s goodwill or a business’ brand identifier such as a logo or tagline. Often times, intellectual property litigation involves some type of infringement claim where one party is being accused of taking or using another party’s intellectual property without permission. Intellectual property litigation can include patent infringement, copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation or trademark infringement.
